The prince, the queen and the king
Prince Theron returns to court to find his father married again, and the new queen is no stranger: Lysandra is the woman he has been seeing in his dreams. The visions turn out to be shared, and they draw the two of them into an affair neither can afford. They are found out and banished, and then comes the turn that gives the series its edge: the king, who never managed to satisfy his wife, ends up offering the prince both her and his crown.
Why this new series is absolutely wild
Stepmother stories are everywhere on Candy, but this one swaps the usual suburban kitchen for a royal court out of legend. The poster sets the scene with temple columns on the hill, a ship in the harbor, laurel wreaths on both men and the armored king watching from behind as his son holds the queen. Divine visions, a banishment and a throne at stake give the forbidden romance a scale that the domestic series cannot match.
The end of the synopsis is the real hook. Instead of a furious husband, the king turns out to be a man who knows he never made his wife happy and hands over both her and the kingdom, which explains why Candy files the series under Cuck as well as Mother, Taboo and Fantasy. It is a bold arc for five episodes, and exactly the kind of swing that makes a new series worth a look.
